Music Term 2 2022

During Music, the song that I and my group are currently working on is “Don’t forget your roots”.

The progress that I and my group made in the song so far is pretty decent, as we were able to get through most of the chorus as me and my group is just getting themselves familiar with the chords in the song.

The only thing that’s challenging for my group is the fact that the covid pandemic is still here in NZ, and there will be some times when one of us will be away due to Covid19, and it’s also because it’s only just the two of us in the group.

I and my group only have 5 periods left remaining and the goal that I and my group hope to achieve in the next 2 weeks is to be familiarized with all the chords of the song by then.

During Music Term 2, we have been researching and deciding on what NZ music we would like to work on and if we want to do it in a group or solo, and were given a choice of the people we would like in our group.

What song have you chosen and why?

The song that I and my group chose was Don’t forget your roots and why I and my group chose this was because it was an easy option for my group.

2. Who wrote and performed the song and what is the song about?

The one who wrote the song was Ji Frazer and Matiu Walter and the song was about was it was about not forgetting what’s important most and where you came from.

3. Are you working in a group or as a soloist?

I am working in a group of two

4. If working in a group then who are you working with and what is each person doing/playing?

The person in my group is Karsten and my role is the pianist and my group’s role is the singing lead and also the pianist.

5. What do you think will be your biggest challenge when preparing this place?

I think the biggest challenge in this play will be the singing for my group.

6. What is your rehearsal goal for the next two weeks?

My rehearsal goal for the next two weeks is to at least perfect the chorus in the song we are working on.
